    More important was how friendly Alan and Margaret were. Alan popped by and gave us a zucchini from the garden and some beautiful fish fresh off a boat that stopped in at the bay the night before. They also loaned us shovels and sieves for fossicking, and gave us great advice on where to look. We found some gorgeous pieces of topaz based on their advice. As a bonus there are plenty of marsupials of various types hopping around the house in the mornings and evenings.

    We spent a couple of nights at Alan and Margaret's Killiecrankie Bay Holiday House to do some fossicking with our kids and had a great time. The house is big, with a great view. Unlike most holiday houses, they provided linens for all the beds, towels, toilet paper, soap for the dishes, a few basic spices, salt, etc. The house and furnishings are not flashy, but the linens, pillows and beds were all really good.
